This is exactly what the game is about; massive online battles where three distinct empires fight for control over every section of land that a continent offers. Such continents will be roughly about 8x8 kilometers in size and will support up to 2000 players fighting for assets that have unique purposes. These assets can include massive bases that have courtyards the size of an average Call of Duty map, control towers, and other structures that have yet to be revealed.
It's a massive conquest version of battlefield, but these assets also provide resources for the faction that controls them which in return will allow them to upgrade or produce items/vehicles.
As I mentioned earlier, there will be three factions you can swear your allegiance to:
Terran Republic, New Conglomerate, and Vanu Sovereignty
Each having their advantages and disadvantage as described below in the video.

There's also a lot of information about PS2 in this thread but I'm going to highlight some of the other main features of the game here.
- Weapons, amour, and vehicles are customizable. (I.E. BF3)
- Contrary Planetside 1, there will be a class system.
- You can create squads and platoons with the proper certifications.
- You can create "Outfits" and potentially create an alliance with other outfits(outfits=clans)
- There will be an expanded commander system (think Battlefield 2)
- Commanders/leaders can create mission objectives. ("Destroy generators") These objectives will be display on the HUD.
- There is a certification system which allows you to unlock certain skills and abilities. For example if you would like to drive the main battle tanks then you would have to follow the proper certification tree in order to access to them.
- The cert tree takes time to train, however you can train your skills overnight while you are away from the game(I.E. EVE Online).
- The certification training time will decrease the more you play.
- Continents are mapped in hexes like in Civilization 5. Each hex size will vary depending on what area it's covering such as a base that will vary from 5-7 hexes. Each hex provides resources.
- Free 2 Play with premium and subscription options.(details are scarce, plans should be similar to DC Online Universe)
- There will a micro transaction shop. Mostly vanity and convenience items. "Power" will not be sold.
- There will be a 3 year development plan to add content.

This could be the next big game for our clan, however if we are to make this a group effort then we need to come to a consensus regarding the faction that will represent our unit. Reply to the poll and discuss. Resources (media,info,etc) will be added in the second post.
